Alexandra Gray - Designer

Photograph of Alexandra Gray working at her deskHaving grown up with a beautiful garden around her, Alexandra later retrained as a garden designer, gaining a Distinction in HNC Garden Planning and Design at Wiltshire College, Lackham. This year she gained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from the University of Glocestershire and is now undertaking a masters.

She is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, London and collaborates with trusted colleagues in the design and landscape industry as required for each job.

Her own garden, designed and created from an overgrown and neglected ½ acre plot and sometimes open to the public, is always evolving as it is used to trial plants, materials and ideas.

The garden was featured in Wiltshire Life magazine February 2006.

She has been lucky enough to travel widely, and the plants and gardens seen and created in exotic locations are a constant inspiration. She has worked on:

  • a tropical flower garden for a French bank in Cambodia
  • a wildlife haven amidst the heat, sand and concrete of Abu Dhabi
  • a herb garden on a neglected, sandy plot in Germany and
  • a planting scheme for a new development in southern Spain.
